Tara's Master of Letters was obtained from Central Queensland University in 1994. The degree was composed of four units and a dissertation.

These four modules were aligned into a thesis titled "In the shadow of her time: An evaluation of the words and vision of Derek Jarman as gendered sources for the Thatcher decade."
